Description
Ferns with blackish wiry roots. Rhizomes bear lanceolate non-clathrate scales. Stipes have crescent-shaped vascular bundles that unite towards the base of the blade to form a U-shape in cross-section. Their veins branch from the midvein and do not unite to form a network. Veins terminate before reaching the leaf margin. Sori are round and have indusia that arise from the base of the sporangia and often divided into segments or filaments. Spores are monolete.
